CIT Coimbatore and ISAC join hands to build Cyber Security Center of Excellence with TCS and SkillsDA as sponsors

ISAC is India's leading non-profit cyber security foundation.

Coimbatore Institute of Technology (CIT) and Information Sharing and Analysis Center (ISAC) signed an agreement on 26th March 2021 to build a world-class Center of Excellence (CoE) in Cyber Security, sponsored by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and SkillsDA.

The CoE will come up at the brand new facility, Teaching Learning Center (CIT-TLC), funded by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The Center of Excellence will have a state-of-the-art Cyber-Physical System (CPS) based Smart City Simulator that will build skills on defending against next-generation attack vectors on IoT and SCADA.

The center will have a Security Operations Center (SOC) Simulation lab to create capacity in SOC technologies and have over 300+ pre-defined scenarios based on Cyberange Virtual Labs.

TCS aims to hire over 500 National Security Database Certified Professionals trained at the CoE to meet increasing business demands of cyber security professionals globally.

This Center of Excellence will become part of the ISACs “The Alliance for Center of Excellence” (TACE) program, which will connect over 100 CoEs across India by 2030. Under the TACE initiative, every CoE has to connect with a minimum of five academic institutions in the local region and provide access to the facilities of the CoE for building the capacity in cybersecurity.

The Cyberange Virtual Labs and the National Security Database Certification programs are recognised by the Ministry of Education, under the NEAT 2.0 initiative under a Public-Private-Partnership with ISAC Foundation.
